Roque Ekialde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes in the game, Roque Ekialde fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Narciso Malvin having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Atletico Liliputiense got a freekick which was hit by Carmelo Felipillo. Roque Ekialde struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Narciso Malvin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araujo AFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Munio in the 29th minute of play forced Araujo AFC's goalkeeper Natalio Herena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Araujo AFC's Natalio Herena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Munio in the 31st minute of play. Santiago Munio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Carmelo Felipillo fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Liliputiense's protests and gave Carmelo Felipillo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Carmelo Felipillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Carmelo Felipillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Liliputiense's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmelo Felipillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natalio Herena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Roque Ekialde made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Hernan Caetano fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Hernan Caetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santiago Munio got free with Natalio Herena in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Atletico Liliputiense:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Araujo AFC:s goal. The referee gave Araujo AFC a penalty, 61 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Claudio Avellaneda, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Atletico Liliputiense's Narciso Malvin. 2-0. With an all-out effort, Atletico Liliputiense's Natalio Herena threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hernan Caetano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roque Ekialde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Roque Ekialde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Hernan Caetano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atletico Liliputiense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.
