Alvaro Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Hernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Frías's zone, Aquiles Timo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Barea came out of the goal and Aquiles Timo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Casimiro Sancho hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Freddy Barea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltasar Enekoitz in the 25th minute of play. If Lorenzo Teofilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eduardo Atarrabi came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Argentinos Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Atarrabi couldn't finish the play. The wind increased when Baltasar Enekoitz made the kick off in the second half. With his leg Freddy Barea managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Argentinos Juniors's Baltasar Enekoitz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lorenzo Teofilio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Freddy Barea, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alvaro Batista came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Frías's Casimiro Sancho. But to his dismay, Casimiro Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Cayetano Lope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Lico charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abelardo Lico the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Abelardo Lico kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Teofilio in the 79th minute of play forced Frías's goalkeeper Freddy Barea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Argentinos Juniors booed when Frías was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Hernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Argentinos Juniors were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
