In the 31st minute Emilio Pacifico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Arias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Arias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Grabiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Samet Gökçek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Pirro struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Francisco Hegoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castellino City Club. Francisco Hegoi was a little too slow when Samet Gökçek got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 1-1. If Arnaldo Remir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Fix in the 52nd minute of play forced Castellino City Club's goalkeeper Rodrigo Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Resistencia's goalkeeper Francisco Hegoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Resistencia's goal looked a bit too open when Samet Gökçek came free, but Francisco Hegoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Albino Fix kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rodrigo Arias. That made the score 1-2 in the 78 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Samet Gökçek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castellino City Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Samet Gökçek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Hegoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodrigo Arias made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Federico Caetano sent off a good shot on target. Castellino City Club's Rodrigo Arias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Castellino City Club from getting a goal against them. Chants of Resistencia echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Castellino City Club had held the ball for most of the match.
