The referee ignored Independiente's protests and gave Remigio Pinto a yellow card for diving instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jose Demario couldn't finish the play. 32 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Jax came free, but Eliseo Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseo Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Demario in the 36th minute of the match. Eliseo Fernandes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jimeno Jax showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 39 minute of play. After some careless play in the Jumial defense, Emilio Nuñez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aaron Birjaio. The Jumial fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aaron Birjaio should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonatan Sabin was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Jonatan Sabin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 53 played minutes Jumial got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Pancho. 55 minutes into the game, Haroldo Argoitz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Aaron Birjaio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute, Jose Demario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliseo Fernandes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The supporters of Independiente booed when Jumial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Ferrando didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Paulino Lizbeth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jumial fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. In the 68thth minute of the game Paulino Lizbeth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Independiente's Eliseo Fernandes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jose Demario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseo Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elpidio Harkaitz to maneuver through the defense. Eliseo Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Demario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliseo Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Lizbeth in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Jose Demario cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Eliseo Fernandes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 85th minute, Paulino Lizbeth made a precise shot to the right of Eliseo Fernandes. Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-2. In the 89th minute Jimeno Jax shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Independiente's Eliseo Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Demario in the 91st minute of play. Eliseo Fernandes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carolo Ferrando went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-2 was the resulting score. There was no doubt that Jumial were the better team. Jumial's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
