La Banda del Chila's Humberto Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Donostia in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Aicuña's goalkeeper Aquiles Brais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artemio Olayo. In the 20th minute of the match Jose Mercurio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Ortiz skillfully saved the ball. Aquiles Brais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Olayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Artemio Olayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquiles Brais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artemio Olayo's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. With a little luck, Aicuña's Aquiles Brais got control of the ball when Artemio Olayo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 33 minutes of play, La Banda del Chila's Artemio Olayo made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aquiles Brais was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 36th minute, La Banda del Chila's Luisito Hartz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luisito Hartz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of La Banda del Chila protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luisito Hartz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to La Banda del Chila getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Luisito Hartz hit a great ball. Saul Demario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 40 in the game by Artemio Olayo from a close distance when the talented Aquiles Brais managed to make a qualified save. Aicuña's players were relieved. Raimundo Arantes struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Aquiles Brais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Banda del Chila. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Artemio Olayo managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Banda del Chila's supporters rose to their feet, but Artemio Olayo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquiles Brais breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herminio Maidana made a kick off. Aquiles Brais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Olayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Baldovino in the 53rd minute of play forced Aicuña's goalkeeper Aquiles Brais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 74 minutes, Artemio Olayo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Banda del Chila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Olayo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
