Emilio Medardo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aquilino Martinez's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Mariano Prejun charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mariano Prejun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Emilio Medardo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aquilino Martinez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. Feliciano Gil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Chorche having to interfere. Emilio Medardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquilino Martinez in the 31st minute of play. Feliberto Handi's late challenge caught a Gremeo f.c's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feliberto Handi helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Atlético Mendobus got a freekick which was hit by Feliberto Handi. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Romeo Lizardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Mendobus's supporters rose to their feet, but Romeo Lizardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristobal Chorche breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Nicholas's late challenge caught a Atlético Mendobus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Nicholas helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 38 minutes, Feliciano Gil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Mendobus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Feliciano Gil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeo Lizardi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Gremeo f.c's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Lizardi came free, but Cristobal Chorche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emilio Medardo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

If Feliciano Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 minutes, Hilario Macias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremeo f.c and the Atlético Mendobus players grew even worse after the yellow card.
