Efrain Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godofredo Rioja, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Rafael Farias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Farias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Godofredo Rioja, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 76 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Efrain Maureo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 77 minutes into the game, Ernesto Porfirio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Racing Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alpasinche the free kick. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Ernesto Porfirio hit a great ball. Melquiades Matteo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Efrain Maureo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Godofredo Rioja got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Godofredo Rioja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efrain Maureo having to interfere. If Godofredo Rioja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
