Spectators: 7262 (Terracing: 5448, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 144) Laprida's Ciro Matei started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Club Atlético River Plate's Fulgencio Gonsalvo got control of the ball when Emiliano Vachon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fulgencio Gonsalvo came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Laprida's Emiliano Vachon. But to his dismay, Emiliano Vachon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 11 played minutes Club Atlético River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Bartoli. Ciro Matei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Gonsalvo having to interfere. If Modesto Atarratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Fulgencio Gonsalvo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Emiliano Vachon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laprida's supporters rose to their feet, but Emiliano Vachon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fulgencio Gonsalvo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute of the match Fulgencio Txurio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vito Meirelles skillfully saved the ball. Ciro Matei struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Fulgencio Gonsalvo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laprida. Club Atlético River Plate's Jaime Toli got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Modesto Atarratze's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vito Meirelles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Modesto Atarratze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Laprida! In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Club Atlético River Plate. Jonas Bartoli stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vito Meirelles. 1-1. The referee gave Club Atlético River Plate a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jonas Bartoli, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Laprida's Vito Meirelles. 1-2. After having played for 77 minutes, Emiliano Vachon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laprida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Vachon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ciro Matei came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Laprida fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Matei couldn't finish the play. Fulgencio Gonsalvo came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Laprida's Ciro Matei. But to his dismay, Ciro Matei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After having played for 86 minutes, Emiliano Vachon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laprida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Vachon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fulgencio Gonsalvo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Vachon, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Ciro Matei blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fulgencio Gonsalvo having to make a save.
