The supporters of Colón AFC booed when Dolor de huevos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Peli didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Colón AFC's goalkeeper Filomeno Birjaio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eloy Cordarrol. Gualterio Macerio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolo Cambranes, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Bartolo Cambranes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gualterio Macerio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bartolo Cambranes came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Colón AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartolo Cambranes couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Raimundo Ignatius's late challenge caught a Dolor de huevos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raimundo Ignatius helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, Raimundo Ignatius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
