The referee ignored Fortin F.C.'s protests and gave Froilan Ekain a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, Fortin F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Ekain to maneuver through the defense. San Martín de Tucumán's Victorio Dolcet shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 8th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dionisio Etxatxu but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Eduardo Bras managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fortin F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Bras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Regis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th minute, Teofilo Selmo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduardo Bras struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Narciso Regis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortin F.C.. In the 18th minute, Fortin F.C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Teofilo Selmo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Victorio Dolcet charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victorio Dolcet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th match minute, San Martín de Tucumán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Dolcet to maneuver through the defense. After 28 played minutes San Martín de Tucumán got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Harkaitz. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Elpidio Dolfo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fortin F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Elpidio Dolfo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Regis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eduardo Bras in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Narciso Regis saved San Martín de Tucumán from getting behind. Teofilo Selmo came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dionisio Etxatxu could save by the left post. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fortin F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Victorio Dolcet was slow to take the kick. During this time San Martín de Tucumán's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Fabio Harkaitz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dionisio Etxatxu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Rodolfo Medero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fortin F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Medero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Regis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Narciso Regis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Bras, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Fortin F.C.'s Froilan Ekain got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Narciso Regis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Bras in the 43rd minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teofilo Selmo was the one to do the kick off. Eduardo Bras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Regis having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Medero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Narciso Regis. San Martín de Tucumán's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodolfo Medero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Narciso Regis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodolfo Medero in the 62nd minute. Elpidio Dolfo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Eduardo Bras put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Narciso Regis. When Felix Belmiro fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Martín de Tucumán's protests and gave Felix Belmiro a yellow card for diving instead. Felix Belmiro kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. When Fortin F.C.'s Eduardo Bras in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Martín de Tucumán's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 75 minutes, Angelo Afonso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortin F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Angelo Afonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Fortin F.C.'s Eduardo Bras in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Eduardo Bras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Froilan Ekain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Fortin F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than San Martín de Tucumán.
