Ranchillos's Alejo Veronica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Orlan in the 14th minute of play. After 20 minutes, Primitivo Mino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ranchillos and the Velez sarsfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. Primitivo Mino kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Wilfredo Ayala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Pacorro in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 played minutes Velez sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Saturnino Ermengol. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Pacorro got free with Wilfredo Ayala in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ranchillos booed when Velez sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Ermengol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roman Pacorro scored 1-0 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilfredo Ayala, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's Lázaro Handi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alejo Veronica narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
