Casimiro Gutierrez started the match with the kick off. When Pedro Dunixi fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Club's protests and gave Pedro Dunixi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Luganofootball booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Dunixi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casimiro Gutierrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Mendebal having to interfere. Casimiro Gutierrez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Romulo Mendebal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pedro Dunixi kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Arturo Joey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Romulo Mendebal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romulo Mendebal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casimiro Gutierrez in the 30th minute of play. Luganofootball's Anastasio Ishmael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horacio Vidal in the 34th minute of play. Anastasio Ishmael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Casimiro Gutierrezs short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Romulo Mendebal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horacio Vidal made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Casimiro Gutierrez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luganofootball's supporters crossed their fingers, but Casimiro Gutierrez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cesar Porfirio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Racing Club fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Racing Club's Horacio Vidal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Horacio Vidal came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Anastasio Ishmael could save by the left post. Arturo Joey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Mendebal having to interfere. Casimiro Gutierrez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the game, Valentin Txomin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luganofootball's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing Club the free kick. Valentin Txomin kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Arturo Joey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 86 minutes of play, Racing Club's Horacio Vidal made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anastasio Ishmael was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 91st minute, Arturo Joey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Romulo Mendebal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casimiro Gutierrez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Arturo Joey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Luganofootball's Casimiro Gutierrez in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Racing Club's goalie prevented a goal. The Racing Club players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
