Hector Gelmiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Quentin in the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Quentin in the 5th minute of play forced Olain FC's goalkeeper Hector Gelmiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Dario Quinten in the 8th minute really tested Pascual Txordon's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Cássio Custódio succeeded in the game's 14th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. The Olain FC fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Olain FC's Rafa Souto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hector Gelmiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Oriche, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With his leg Pascual Txordon managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Olain FC's Rafa Souto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 40 minutes into the match, Enrique Quentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hector Gelmiro. Olain FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrique Quentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Godofredo Mateus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enrique Quentin to make the kick off. If Cássio Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristo Pierres charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristo Pierres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, Cássio Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Olain FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Quentin came free, but Hector Gelmiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Guerau hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute Cássio Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascual Txordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 70th play minutes Rafa Souto shot 4-2, a short shot which went by Pascual Txordon and just under the crossbar into goal. Pascual Txordon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafa Souto's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. After some careless play in the River Plate defense, Rafa Souto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pascual Txordon. The River Plate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pascual Txordon should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, River Plate's Hector Gelmiro threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Enrique Quentin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pascual Txordon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Ariel Guerau fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Ariel Guerau a yellow card for diving instead. Enrique Quentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. River Plate's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
