After a defensive mix-up in Pacíficos FC's zone, Rene Gipuzkoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eustaquio Urdin came out of the goal and Rene Gipuzkoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th match minute, Pacíficos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Ezkerra to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Curumalán FC's Celestino Ganix broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Arturo Luke's late challenge caught a Curumalán FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Pacíficos FC's Isidoro Rocio got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Honorio Astigar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Curumalán FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Fabian Mitxaut hit a great ball. Aquiles Tajo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquin Eztebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Isidoro Rocio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Curumalán FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
