The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timoteo Gergori during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Timoteo Gergori hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carmelo Fonso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Haritz, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Carmelo Fonso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Haritz in the 6th minute of the match. Miguel Haritz had several of the Yariguarenda FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Carmelo Fonso as he didn't even see the shot coming. Carmelo Fonso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Jago in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Yariguarenda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Haritz came free, but Carmelo Fonso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute of the match Leopoldo Formerio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cipriano Orti skillfully saved the ball. Fages Athletic Club's Cipriano Orti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Cebrian in the 27th minute of play. Casimiro Henric's late challenge caught a Yariguarenda FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Casimiro Henric helped the player get up and apologised. If Miguel Haritz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Fages Athletic Club's Miguel Haritz in the 40th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Carmelo Fonso was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Yariguarenda FC through an amazing save. 48 minutes into the game, Miguel Haritz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carmelo Fonso. Miguel Haritz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Camilo Cebrian to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Yariguarenda FC's zone, Miguel Haritz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carmelo Fonso came out of the goal and Miguel Haritz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Cebrian in the 57th minute of play forced Fages Athletic Club's goalkeeper Cipriano Orti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Ruperto Galtero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leopoldo Jago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Adrian Gonzalez fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yariguarenda FC's protests and gave Adrian Gonzalez a yellow card for diving instead. Adrian Gonzalez hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Diego Cordareo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the match, Camilo Cebrian dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cipriano Orti, 3-2. When Camilo Cebrian came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Yariguarenda FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camilo Cebrian couldn't finish the play. Yariguarenda FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
