After a defensive mix-up in Miranda's zone, Arturo Cresenciano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paolo Steven came out of the goal and Arturo Cresenciano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 16 played minutes Gaviotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Tiso. Esteve Perutxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paolo Steven having to interfere. The supporters of Gaviotas FC booed when Miranda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ovidio Garikoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fausto Eusko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paolo Steven having to interfere. Esteve Perutxo struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Paolo Steven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaviotas FC. Esteve Perutxo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Paolo Steven made a huge save. If Fabian Quinten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Esteve Perutxo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gaviotas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some careless play in the Miranda defense, Fausto Eusko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paolo Steven. The Miranda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paolo Steven should have stopped the shot.
