The coaching staff of BOCA JUNIORS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rene Ferdinand had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 15th match minute, BOCA JUNIORS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Ferdinand to maneuver through the defense. Anier Aires was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Evelio Lucero. In the 18th minute, Felix Savion got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Savion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Romulo Cordarius managed to get in a good position for a shot. BOCA JUNIORS's supporters rose to their feet, but Romulo Cordarius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Moises Eate breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Marino during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, El Retutu's Tomás Marino got a free kick in the 24th minute. El Retutu's Moises Eate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Savion in the 44th minute of play. BOCA JUNIORS's Blas Balendin suffered a concussion in the 46th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 46 minutes into the game, Victor Lehior was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Retutu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BOCA JUNIORS the free kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guaberto Thomas made a kick off. If Enzo Donio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enzo Donio got free with Moises Eate in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. El Retutu's Moises Eate proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save El Retutu from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute, Delmiro Leoncio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute, El Retutu's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Felix Savion fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Felix Savion blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Moises Eate having to make a save. Felix Savion received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Moises Eate came out and tried to block the shot, but Felix Savion slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 68th minute. After some careless play in the El Retutu defense, Enzo Donio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moises Eate. The El Retutu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moises Eate should have stopped the shot. El Retutu's Moises Eate proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save El Retutu from getting a goal against them. Felix Savion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Moises Eate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moises Eate made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Savion in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute Felix Savion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Eate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, El Retutu's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo Donio came free, but Moises Eate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
