Iglesia AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alfonso Cefero was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ivan Oalo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 36 minute of play. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iglesia AFC's goalkeeper Eusebio Acevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Polvaredas FC's zone, Arnoldo Procopio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Oalo to make the kick off. When Ivan Oalo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Iglesia AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Oalo couldn't finish the play. If Delmiro Bemabe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Erramun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
