Spectators: 7168 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1668, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Placido Celino took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Anguil FC booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Tabb didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Zeledon Gonzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustino Roderigo came out of the goal and Zeledon Gonzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Severo Abeijon struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Faustino Roderigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Anguil FC. River Plate's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Feliberto Luzaide scored to the left of an out of position Faustino Roderigo, making the score, 1-0. Paulino Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Florentino Garaile tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. River Plate's Paulino Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Placido Celino in the 39th minute of play forced Anguil FC's goalkeeper Florentino Garaile to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florentino Garaile showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Celino in the 41st minute of the match. Severo Abeijon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faustino Roderigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Anguil FC fully deserved thier win.
