But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elvio Chico couldn't finish the play. La Mano de Dios's Gogo Gonsalve got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After 91 minutes of play, La Mano de Dios's Elvio Chico made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ciriaco Hondo was left in no man's land by his defense there!
