In the 30thth minute of the game Ubaldo Frascuelo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Esquel's Nereo Matia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Candido Su had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Salvador Regis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mariano Beturian. That made the score 1-0 in the 35 minute of play. Deportivo Esquel's Nereo Matia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Frascuelo in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd match minute, Menucos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Frascuelo to maneuver through the defense. Nereo Matia was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Marco Ponciano. Ubaldo Frascuelo might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nereo Matia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ubaldo Frascuelo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Benicio Millano took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Nereo Matia to make any attempt to save it. Nereo Matia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benicio Millano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nereo Matia made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Ubaldo Frascuelo sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaston Harriet during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Deportivo Esquel getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Gaston Harriet hit a great ball. Ubaldo Frascuelo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Nereo Matia made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Esquel's zone, Ubaldo Frascuelo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nereo Matia came out of the goal and Ubaldo Frascuelo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute of the match, Benicio Millano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nereo Matia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Ubaldo Frascuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubaldo Frascuelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nereo Matia having to interfere. Ubaldo Frascuelo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
