The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate de San Rafael's zone, Godofredo Pirmin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After 7 played minutes River Plate de San Rafael got a freekick which was hit by Filiberto Cresitobalo. 14 minutes into the match, SanLo's Denis Peter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isidro Astigar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, SanLo's goal looked a bit too open when Jesus Otsoa came free, but Eustacio Gipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alejo Herena fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SanLo's protests and gave Alejo Herena a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of River Plate de San Rafael booed when SanLo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejo Herena didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesus Otsoa in the 29th minute of play forced SanLo's goalkeeper Eustacio Gipuzkoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, SanLo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Madaleno to maneuver through the defense. Isidro Astigar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Peter, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Isidro Astigar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godofredo Pirmin in the 36th minute. In the 40th minute Jesus Otsoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustacio Gipuzkoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. River Plate de San Rafael's Isidro Astigar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save River Plate de San Rafael from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denis Peter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Godofredo Pirmin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Peter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Astudillo struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Eustacio Gipuzkoa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate de San Rafael. 70 minutes into the match, SanLo's goalkeeper Eustacio Gipuzkoa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jesus Otsoa. After 78 played minutes River Plate de San Rafael got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Gerazan. In the 81st minute, Remigio Baumer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Denis Peter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the River Plate de San Rafael defense, Godofredo Pirmin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidro Astigar. The River Plate de San Rafael fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidro Astigar should have stopped the shot. 93 minutes into the match, Godofredo Pirmin notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of River Plate de San Rafael's Isidro Astigar. Isidro Astigar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. SanLo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
