After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Isaac Elequemedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rastrojos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaac Elequemedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nereo Matia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nereo Matia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isaac Elequemedo's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. After 14 minutes of play, Deportivo Esquel's Salvador Regis made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabio Iztal was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Isaac Elequemedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rastrojos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaac Elequemedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nereo Matia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cleto Rodas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Esquel's Salvador Regis got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute of the match Eloy Padro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nereo Matia skillfully saved the ball. Deportivo Esquel's Nereo Matia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Elequemedo in the 33rd minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Rastrojos FC's Cleto Rodas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nereo Matia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. If Cleto Rodas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Cleto Rodas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rastrojos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleto Rodas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nereo Matia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Salvador Regis made a kick off. A collision led to Deportivo Esquel getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Feliberto Leoiar hit a great ball. After 59 played minutes Deportivo Esquel got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Harriet. After 61 played minutes, Rastrojos FC's Filomeno Ihintza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nereo Matia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rastrojos FC reached it. Isaac Elequemedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cleto Rodas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Rodas in the 67th minute of play forced Deportivo Esquel's goalkeeper Nereo Matia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Rastrojos FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Joel Eufrasio hit a great ball. If Isaac Elequemedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Esquel's Candido Su got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabio Iztal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Regis in the 79th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the match, Cleto Rodas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nereo Matia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cleto Rodas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Isaac Elequemedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nereo Matia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. Rastrojos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
