The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dalmacio Rafel during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Gerli getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Dalmacio Rafel hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camilo Silvino got free with Igor Cebo in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eustacio Cutberto charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eustacio Cutberto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Quilmes Atlético Club's Eustacio Cutberto got a free kick in the 18th minute. Quilmes Atlético Club's Fabricio Eztebe got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Quilmes Atlético Club's Fabricio Eztebe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Igor Cebo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Gerli's Igor Cebo got control of the ball when Camilo Silvino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dalmacio Rafel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Delmar Bela might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Tomi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Delmar Bela ran back to his position shaking his head. Delmar Bela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Camilo Silvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Silvino in the 69th minute of play forced Gerli's goalkeeper Igor Cebo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerli's Aureliano Baldovino got his second yellow card of the match in the 70th minute. The referee ordered Aureliano Baldovino off the ground. A collision led to Gerli getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Aureliano Baldovino hit a great ball. Igor Cebo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Eztebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Gerli's goal looked a bit too open when Fabricio Eztebe came free, but Igor Cebo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gerli's zone, Fabricio Eztebe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Cebo came out of the goal and Fabricio Eztebe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 77 minutes of play, Quilmes Atlético Club's Fabricio Eztebe made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Igor Cebo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Igor Cebo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Eztebe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Camilo Silvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerli's Dalmacio Rafel got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Igor Cebo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Silvino, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Dalmacio Rafel might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Tomi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dalmacio Rafel ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Gerli players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
