CA Independiente's Anselmo Tomi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Chorache in the 3rd minute of play. Anselmo Tomi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Rocio, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute, Felix Chorache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso Venceslao during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to CA Independiente getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Celso Venceslao hit a great ball. After 12 minutes, Isidoro Demario mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA Independiente and the De neon players grew even worse after the yellow card. Isidoro Demario kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Arnulfo Lidon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Severo Ayala might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Tomi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severo Ayala ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 18th minute Ciriaco Urre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Amato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Ladislao Acevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, De neon's Santo Salbatore got a free kick in the 20th minute. After some careless play in the De neon defense, Ciriaco Urre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnaldo Amato. The De neon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnaldo Amato should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 28 minutes into the game, when Ladislao Acevedo put in a rough tackle. 27 minutes into the game, one of De neon:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind CA Independiente's goalkeeper Anselmo Tomi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnulfo Lidon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Tomi having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in CA Independiente's zone, Arnulfo Lidon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Tomi came out of the goal and Arnulfo Lidon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Felix Chorache got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 played minutes CA Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Ixaka.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isidoro Demario to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, De neon's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Demario came free, but Arnaldo Amato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severo Ayala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Anselmo Tomi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severo Ayala struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Anselmo Tomi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De neon. After 91 minutes of play, De neon's Severo Ayala made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anselmo Tomi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Many of De neon's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. De neon may have spent more time on the ball, but CA Independiente were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
