After a defensive mix-up in Icaño FC's zone, Rogelio Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgardo Tulio came out of the goal and Rogelio Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rogelio Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgardo Tulio made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Rogelio Arce sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Icaño FC's Camilo Escobar got a free kick in the 10th minute. Maximiliano Columbo hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Edgardo Tulio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Licerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Teo Joanes fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Icaño FC's protests and gave Teo Joanes a yellow card for diving instead. Teo Joanes hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Rogelio Arce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgardo Tulio. Icaño FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogelio Arce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 28 minutes into the match, Filiberto Solustiano notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Colón de Santa Fe's Ramon Malvin. Ramon Malvin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Filiberto Solustiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the game, Aristides Ordono was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colón de Santa Fe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Icaño FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Colón de Santa Fe's Aristides Ordono got a free kick in the 35th minute. Ramon Malvin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filiberto Solustiano went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Mauricio Licerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Tulio having to interfere. Mauricio Licerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Edgardo Tulio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filiberto Solustiano made a kick off. In the 57th minute Rogelio Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Tulio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Colón de Santa Fe booed when Icaño FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Escobar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgardo Tulio came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Colón de Santa Fe's Mauricio Licerio. But to his dismay, Mauricio Licerio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. If Rogelio Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomero Asur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Ramon Malvin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baldomero Asur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramon Malvin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute Rogelio Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Tulio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Colón de Santa Fe getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Gaspar Cisco hit a great ball. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 81st minute, when Icaño FC's Camilo Escobar after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Ramon Malvin in Colón de Santa Fe's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. 83 minutes into the match, Colón de Santa Fe's goalkeeper Ramon Malvin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baldomero Asur. If Mauricio Licerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauricio Licerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Tulio having to interfere. Camilo Escobar kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Icaño FC's Edgardo Tulio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Arce in the 94th minute of play.
