Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's Diego Orlondon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Licerio in the 26th minute of play. Aristides Ordono took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diego Orlondon. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 34 played minutes Colón de Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Juan Porfirio. In the 55thth minute of the game Baldomero Bieito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colón de Santa Fe's Ramon Malvin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Colón de Santa Fe's Mauricio Licerio got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mauricio Licerio struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Diego Orlondon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colón de Santa Fe. In the 60th minute of the game, Leonides Abalos landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Teofilo Lonzo fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colón de Santa Fe's protests and gave Teofilo Lonzo a yellow card for diving instead. Teofilo Lonzo kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Humberto Guillelmus kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The Colón de Santa Fe fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when Colón de Santa Fe's Rogelio Arce looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. But to his dismay, Baldomero Bieito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Colón de Santa Fe were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
