Venancio Gumaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mario Derwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Placido Theobald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26thth minute of the game Venancio Gumaro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atletico Banfield's Placido Theobald was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Venancio Gumaro in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Placido Theobald prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Explosivo FC's Venancio Gumaro in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Placido Theobald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Gumaro in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Gumaro in the 34th minute of play forced Club Atletico Banfield's goalkeeper Placido Theobald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Placido Theobald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodosio Presebal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Venancio Gumaro came free, but Placido Theobald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Venancio Gumaro was the one to do the kick off. After 62 played minutes Club Atletico Banfield got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Clemencin. If Venancio Gumaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. In the 87th match minute, Club Atletico Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabricio Ricart to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Venancio Gumaro in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Placido Theobald saved Club Atletico Banfield from getting behind. With a little luck, Club Atletico Banfield's Placido Theobald got control of the ball when Venancio Gumaro tried to sneak it across the goal line.
