An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Baldomero Bieito got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience was convinced that Humberto Guillelmus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Jurdan was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 16 minutes into the match, Retamito AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Guillelmus came free, but Flavio Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's Humberto Guillelmus got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Retamito AFC's Martin Eguntsenti got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 24th minute Silvio Suarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Orlondon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baldomero Bieito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Jurdan having to interfere. Baldomero Bieito came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Flavio Jurdan could save by the left post. 36 minutes into the match, Silvio Suarez notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's Diego Orlondon. Diego Orlondon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 39 minutes into the game, Gregorio Loren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Retamito AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba the free kick. In the 39th minute, Gregorio Loren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baldomero Bieito got free with Flavio Jurdan in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute, Silvio Suarez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Retamito AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Humberto Guillelmus made the kick off in the second half. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's Diego Orlondon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Suarez in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Baldomero Bieito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Retamito AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Bieito came free, but Flavio Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 69 minutes, Baldomero Bieito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baldomero Bieito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teo Cliss short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Diego Orlondon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Teo Clis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 92nd minute Baldomero Bieito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Jurdan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Guillelmus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute Baldomero Bieito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Jurdan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Retamito AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
