Ramon Malvin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mauricio Licerio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Placido Theobald came out and tried to block the shot, but Mauricio Licerio slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 33rd minute. If Pastor Ado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Club Atletico Banfield's Placido Theobald got control of the ball when Rogelio Arce tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabricio Ricart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Malvin having to interfere. Mauricio Licerio kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Fermin Ado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ramon Malvin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabricio Ricart was the one to do the kick off. Ramon Malvin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Ricart in the 61st minute of the match. Rogelio Arce struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Placido Theobald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colón de Santa Fe. The Colón de Santa Fe manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Club Atletico Banfield to win.
