CarradoDubinesFC's Mauro Jusepe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomero Bieito in the 19th minute of play. Ernesto Aballe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Diego Orlondon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ernesto Aballe came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the CarradoDubinesFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Aballe couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute, Ernesto Aballe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Leonides Abalos hit a great ball. If Rigoberto Fe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rigoberto Fe to strike the kick off in the second half. When Rigoberto Fe came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the CarradoDubinesFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rigoberto Fe couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in CarradoDubinesFC's zone, Humberto Guillelmus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauro Jusepe came out of the goal and Humberto Guillelmus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Humberto Guillelmus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Guillelmus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauro Jusepe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafino Koldo during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 64 played minutes CarradoDubinesFC got a freekick which was hit by Serafino Koldo. Leonides Abalos's late challenge caught a CarradoDubinesFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonides Abalos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of CarradoDubinesFC booed when Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Abalos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rigoberto Fe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Diego Orlondon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Orlondon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Fe, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 82nd minute, Humberto Guillelmus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Jusepe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
