Albano Rudolfo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baltasar Tulio in the 16th minute. Albano Rudolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Galo in the 19th minute of play. When Cristo Ibar fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cavanagh's protests and gave Cristo Ibar a yellow card for diving instead. Cristo Ibar hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Albano Rudolfo made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Baltasar Tulio sent off a good shot on target. Albano Rudolfo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cipriano Galo's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Cavanagh's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Galo came free, but Albano Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Baltasar Tulio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Calamardo's Cipriano Galo in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cavanagh's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Calamardo's Cipriano Galo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Albano Rudolfo. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. In the 44th match minute, Cavanagh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaias Natal to maneuver through the defense. If Baltasar Tulio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cipriano Galo made a kick off. Baltasar Tulio struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Albano Rudolfo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calamardo. The supporters of Calamardo booed when Cavanagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilario Tirso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calamardo's Cipriano Galo got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes in the game, Isaias Natal fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ramiro Matei having to interfere.
