Dalmacio Abella breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sixto Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Poder Popular's zone, Domingos Incendio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorio Mon came out of the goal and Domingos Incendio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.S y D Los Leones's goalkeeper Dalmacio Abella, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sixto Flores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Abella having to interfere. Bonifacio Artaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Dalmacio Abella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

C.S y D Los Leones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavino Cesaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Poder Popular's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
