Basilio Hunfredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorio Mon having to interfere. Gabriel Mel kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Atilano Rosio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victorio Mon was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 15 minutes, Jeronimo Acuña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sportivo Bernal Oeste and the Poder Popular players grew even worse after the yellow card. Basilio Hunfredo took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victorio Mon. Victorio Mon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Bonifacio Artaldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victorio Mon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atilano Rosio in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Basilio Hunfredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilano Rosio in the 41st minute of play forced Poder Popular's goalkeeper Victorio Mon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bonifacio Artaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Carlos Calisto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Poder Popular's Aurelio Fagondo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Aurelio Fagondo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Poder Popular protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Aurelio Fagondo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Poder Popular fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Sportivo Bernal Oeste. Oscar Garoa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Victorio Mon. 0-3. After the first half Sportivo Bernal Oeste were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 55th minute, Sixto Flores made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Calisto. Sportivo Bernal Oeste's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 60th play minute Atilano Rosio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Victorio Mon. 1-4. In the 71st match minute, Sportivo Bernal Oeste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Lizar to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Bernal Oeste's goalkeeper Carlos Calisto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 89th match minute, Poder Popular was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sixto Flores to maneuver through the defense. Basilio Hunfredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Victorio Mon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basilio Hunfredo in the 92nd minute of play forced Poder Popular's goalkeeper Victorio Mon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute, Sixto Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Poder Popular's zone, Basilio Hunfredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorio Mon came out of the goal and Basilio Hunfredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Sportivo Bernal Oeste players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
