The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 21st minute, Higinio Llorienzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute of the match Jacinto Kemen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Generoso Gines skillfully saved the ball. Poder Popular's Sixto Flores got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th match minute, Banfiel Oeste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Llorienzo to maneuver through the defense. Generoso Gines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Artaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute Aquilino Elixio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Mon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Higinio Llorienzo came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Banfiel Oeste fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Higinio Llorienzo couldn't finish the play. Rosendo Ferrando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Victorio Mon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rosendo Ferrando kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Artaldo in the 45th minute of play forced Banfiel Oeste's goalkeeper Generoso Gines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Banfiel Oeste booed when Poder Popular was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Flores didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute Bonifacio Artaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Generoso Gines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Banfiel Oeste were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bonifacio Artaldo made the kick off in the second half. Sixto Flores struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Generoso Gines didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poder Popular. Victorio Mon made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Higinio Llorienzo sent off a good shot on target. 71 minutes into the match, Banfiel Oeste's goal looked a bit too open when Sixto Flores came free, but Generoso Gines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Aquilino Elixio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Mon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aquilino Elixio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Higinio Llorienzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victorio Mon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Poder Popular's Pedro Chuse got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 81st match minute, Poder Popular was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Chuse to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute of the match Matias Gaspard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victorio Mon skillfully saved the ball. Poder Popular's Victorio Mon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquilino Elixio in the 86th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Higinio Llorienzo took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Victorio Mon to make any attempt to save it. Higinio Llorienzo struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Victorio Mon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banfiel Oeste.
