Luzuriaga's attentive Lino Erdiano managed to snatch the ball when Andres Lastur made a throw-in in the 17th minute of the game. Luzuriaga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Natalio Mattin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Laureano Arias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Luzuriaga fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Luzuriaga's Tobias Aznar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 41 played minutes Luzuriaga got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Martino. Epifanio Iraitz, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
