The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mattias Svahn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Polentzi having to interfere. After some careless play in the Córdoba defense, Ruben Prego kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruperto Polentzi. The Córdoba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruperto Polentzi should have stopped the shot. Córdoba's Ruperto Polentzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mattias Svahn in the 32nd minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Dario Marko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruben Prego received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Efrain Florian was the one to do the kick off. Mattias Svahn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ruperto Polentzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ruperto Polentzi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ruben Prego's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Ruperto Polentzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th minute, Mattias Svahn fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ruperto Polentzi, passed just outside the right post. Tipal FC's Ruben Prego got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tipal FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
