Dario Iyan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teobaldo Iigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Teobaldo Iigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Iyan in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Candido Colon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Carmelo Bernal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Unión y Amistad defense, Candido Colon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carmelo Bernal. The Unión y Amistad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carmelo Bernal should have stopped the shot. After 64 played minutes Salamanca AFC got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Romildo. 69 minutes into the game, Mateo Veremundo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unión y Amistad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salamanca AFC the free kick. 68 minutes into the game, one of Unión y Amistad:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Salamanca AFC. Mauricio Fernendo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carmelo Bernal. 4-2. Candido Colon struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Carmelo Bernal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salamanca AFC. Unión y Amistad's Jeremias Fe got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Salamanca AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Fe came free, but Teobaldo Iigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute Ciriaco Felipo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Bernal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dario Iyan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Iigo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Salamanca AFC's Silvio Romildo got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 98th minute, Dario Iyan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teobaldo Iigo was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. Salamanca AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
