In the 22nd minute, Victor Leobardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felipe Espiridion during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of La Romaneta booed when Martínez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Espiridion didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Perpinya got free with Santos Jon in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santos Jon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Donato Perez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 34 minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Donato Perez notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of La Romaneta's Santos Jon. Santos Jon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Everardo Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Teobaldo Urtsin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Martínez's Teobaldo Urtsin got control of the ball when Victor Leobardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victor Leobardo might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teobaldo Urtsin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Leobardo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Victor Leobardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ariel Baldovino charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ariel Baldovino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th minute, Ariel Baldovino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Alfonso Perpinya put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Santos Jon.
