Ruben Rumaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Santos Baumer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Jesus Palben was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mariño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave los chelcos rugby the free kick. Jesus Palben kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. When Cipriano Nikola came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the los chelcos rugby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cipriano Nikola couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Mariño's zone, Zacarias Medardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santos Baumer came out of the goal and Zacarias Medardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ruben Rumaldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Baumer having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elpidio Fortun to make the kick off. Santos Baumer was a little too slow when Cipriano Nikola got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 2-3. After 62 played minutes los chelcos rugby got a freekick which was hit by Javier Dei. Ruben Rumaldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santos Baumer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ruben Rumaldo ran back to his position shaking his head. Santos Baumer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cipriano Nikola in the 70th minute. Cipriano Nikola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Javier Dei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 played minutes los chelcos rugby got a freekick which was hit by Higinio Gora. After a rather tough play, Mariño's Jesus Palben got a free kick in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Zacarias Medardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. los chelcos rugby's supporters rose to their feet, but Zacarias Medardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santos Baumer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudio Marino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Azevedo having to make a save. The Mariño fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. los chelcos rugby were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
