Eustacio Aznaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardino Lopez having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diego Bilbo in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardino Lopez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bernardino Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Seixas, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. BANFIELD were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Bernardino Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Seixas, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After some careless play in the León F.C defense, Diego Bilbo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardino Lopez. The León F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardino Lopez should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Jerico in the 66th minute of play forced León F.C's goalkeeper Bernardino Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardino Lopez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pablo Jerico went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Bernardino Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. BANFIELD. 88 minutes into the match, León F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Bilbo came free, but Bernardino Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardino Lopez was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Diego Bilbo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Diego Bilbo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. BANFIELD played a much better game than León F.C and deserved their victory. The León F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
