Roque Ixona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Geronimo Qwinton made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Florencio Karmel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pampita's supporters rose to their feet, but Florencio Karmel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorio Nel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Leonardo Cordarrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute of the match Teodosio Rolado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Honorio Nel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Geronimo Qwinton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Cordarrell in the 54th minute of play. Honorio Nel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anier Ofelio, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Albino Alonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Nel having to interfere. Atilano Ekialde's late challenge caught a Pampita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atilano Ekialde helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th minute Roque Ixona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Qwinton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Cordarrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Qwinton having to interfere. Geronimo Qwinton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Diagur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Lorenzo Rio fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pampita's protests and gave Lorenzo Rio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute, Lorenzo Rio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Roque Ixona came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Fortineros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roque Ixona couldn't finish the play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
