With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florencio Feliz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lino Fagondo got free with Florencio Feliz in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelino Gerazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Florencio Feliz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Miguel Lauro notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of RACING CLUB's Tomas Nesto. Tomas Nesto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 22 played minutes RACING CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Romulo Millano. After 23 played minutes, chalom's Guido Maties shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tomas Nesto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in chalom reached it. If Miguel Lauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Mario Dimas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mario Dimas hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Lino Fagondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the game, Hector Figueroa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RACING CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave chalom the free kick. Tomas Nesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Lauro in the 43rd minute of play. RACING CLUB's Tomas Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Enetz in the 45th minute of play. Angelino Gerazan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Feliz having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelino Gerazan was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, RACING CLUB's Gustavo Bonadona got a free kick in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Lauro in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomas Nesto saved RACING CLUB from getting behind. Daniel Egoi charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Egoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edgardo Ostadar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Florencio Feliz. chalom's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tiburcio Enetz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Tomas Nesto made a huge save. A collision led to RACING CLUB getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Hector Figueroa hit a great ball. Tomas Nesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Lauro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Tomas Nesto managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when chalom's Miguel Lauro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. chalom's Tiburcio Enetz got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florencio Feliz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelino Gerazan's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
