Miguel Cordaro charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Cordaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Belgrano defense, Aldo Ixidor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaston Bertin. The Belgrano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaston Bertin should have stopped the shot. When Carlos Sabino fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belgrano's protests and gave Carlos Sabino a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Belgrano's Carlos Sabino got a free kick in the 30th minute. Miguel Cordaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gaston Bertin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaston Bertin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aldo Ixidor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaston Bertin made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Aldo Ixidor sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute, Miguel Cordaro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gaston Bertin. The goal made the score 3-2. The Belgrano players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
