After 9 played minutes Club Atlético River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Serafin Galsino. Serafin Galsino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eloy Koldobika read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. After 15 minutes Cayastacito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabio Ladio who took care of the corner kick. When Serafin Galsino came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Club Atlético River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafin Galsino couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético River Plate's Guillermo Marques got a free kick in the 25th minute. Serafin Galsinos short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Eloy Koldobika to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 39th minute Prospero Porfirio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Koldobika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Cayastacito's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Porfirio came free, but Eloy Koldobika reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Eloy Koldobika showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafin Galsino in the 56th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Prospero Porfirio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eloy Koldobika was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. If Serafin Galsino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cayastacito's Godfredo Jaunzuria got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Cayastacito booed when Club Atlético River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anibal Cesaro didn't get a good kick on the ball.
