A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 22 minutes, Daniel Galsino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético River Plate and the Barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Club Atlético River Plate's Eduardo Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Aznar in the 24th minute of play. When Club Atlético River Plate's Serafin Galsino in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barcelona's goalie prevented a goal. In the 34th minute Prospero Porfirio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florencio Lia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Serafin Galsino notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Barcelona's Florencio Lia. Florencio Lia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Prospero Porfirio made the kick off in the second half. If Prospero Porfirio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th minute, Barcelona's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Serafin Galsino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafin Galsino got free with Florencio Lia in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona's zone, Serafin Galsino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Lia came out of the goal and Serafin Galsino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eduardo Ramos came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Barcelona's Anier Aznar. But to his dismay, Anier Aznar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Club Atlético River Plate made a substitution. Victoriano Fonda replaced Guillermo Marques. Prospero Porfirio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético River Plate's goalkeeper Eduardo Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Florencio Lia made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Serafin Galsino sent off a good shot on target. Anier Aznar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Ramos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Serafin Galsino sped through Barcelona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Florencio Lia. 87 minutes into the match, Club Atlético River Plate's Prospero Porfirio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florencio Lia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barcelona's Florencio Lia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prospero Porfirio in the 89th minute of play. Florencio Lia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafin Galsino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
