Arnulfo Jax came out of the goal and Alvaro Hermon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the match, Luján's goalkeeper Humberto Hanni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Segundo Gartzi. In the 19th match minute, Benjamesis FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Loiola to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Ismael Ongile shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Hanni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Bento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Luján fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Luján's Alvaro Behe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Fidel Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Benjamesis FC's protests and gave Fidel Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ismael Ongile to make the kick off. The supporters of Benjamesis FC booed when Luján was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Cloyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 52 played minutes, Benjamesis FC's Fidel Rubio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Humberto Hanni came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Benjamesis FC reached it. Humberto Hanni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Gartzi in the 54th minute of the match. Alvaro Behe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Luján fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! Arnulfo Jax made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvaro Behe in the 71st minute. Luján's Humberto Hanni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Gartzi in the 73rd minute of play. Alvaro Behe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arnulfo Jax came out and tried to block the shot, but Alvaro Behe slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 76th minute. Alvaro Hermon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Arnulfo Jax tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Benjamesis FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Hermon came free, but Arnulfo Jax reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alvaro Hermon came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Luján fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Hermon couldn't finish the play. Alvaro Hermon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Arnulfo Jax tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnulfo Jax made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Alvaro Behe sent off a good shot on target. Luján's Alvaro Hermon got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the game, Benjamesis FC's Ismael Ongile nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Humberto Hanni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. If Segundo Gartzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamesis FC's Arnulfo Jax proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Benjamesis FC from getting a goal against them. Luján played a much better game than Benjamesis FC and deserved their victory. The Benjamesis FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
