Fausto Quexal made in the 30th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Agustin Egun immediately put the ball in play. In the 32nd minute of the match Claudio Orlan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eduardo Ramos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Roque Valerio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prospero Porfirio in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, Deportivo Merlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Egun to maneuver through the defense. When Prospero Porfirio came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Club Atlético River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Prospero Porfirio couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Cristobal Dacio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The supporters of Deportivo Merlo booed when Club Atlético River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position.
