Gustavo Darien made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Godfredo Esquipula sent off a good shot on target. Damian Chago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giuseppe Garibaldi's Prospero Ubelteso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Raymond in the 7th minute of play. Gualeguay FC's Damian Chago got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Damian Chago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prospero Ubelteso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Javiero in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Aquilino Caetano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Prospero Ubelteso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 20 minutes into the game, Romulo Quintan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gualeguay FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Giuseppe Garibaldi the free kick. Faustino Sidoro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Gustavo Darien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Faustino Sidoro could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Gustavo Darien however easily saved by the left post. Prospero Ubelteso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Chago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Romulo Quintan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonides Ciceron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Ubelteso having to interfere. When Ramiro Raymond came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Gualeguay FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Raymond couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Chago in the 32nd minute of play forced Giuseppe Garibaldi's goalkeeper Prospero Ubelteso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Giuseppe Garibaldi's Honorio Aimar got a free kick in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Ciceron in the 35th minute of play forced Giuseppe Garibaldi's goalkeeper Prospero Ubelteso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 minutes of play, Gualeguay FC's Ramiro Raymond made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Prospero Ubelteso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Prospero Ubelteso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Chago, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Damian Chago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gualeguay FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damian Chago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Prospero Ubelteso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Raymond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honorio Aimar kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Gualeguay FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnaldo Ishmael to strike the kick off in the second half. Damian Chago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Leonides Ciceron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godfredo Esquipula's late challenge caught a Gualeguay FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Godfredo Esquipula helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Giuseppe Garibaldi's Godfredo Esquipula got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 64th minute Faustino Sidoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Darien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prospero Ubelteso made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Damian Chago sent off a good shot on target. Damian Chago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Prospero Ubelteso made a huge save. If Damian Chago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Giuseppe Garibaldi's Prospero Ubelteso got control of the ball when Ramiro Raymond tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustavo Darien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Ishmael in the 86th minute of play. Ramiro Raymond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Ubelteso having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Gualeguay FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Giuseppe Garibaldi.
