Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucio Ieltxu to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Luifa F.c.'s zone, Lucio Ieltxu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomero Aritza came out of the goal and Lucio Ieltxu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Antonio Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucio Ieltxu couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Viejas & Virgenes FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Luifa F.c.:s goal. The Luifa F.c. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
